Welcome to the board

MEET ONE OF THE NEWEST MEMBERS OF THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS, CFAES GRADUATE CONSTANCE CULLMAN, ’92, ’90, PRESIDENT AND CEO OF THE AMERICAN FEED INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION. CULLMAN SAID SHE JOINED THE BOARD “BECAUSE IT PROVIDES A WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY TO HELP STRENGTHEN THE BUCKEYE SPIRIT WITHIN LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND ACROSS THE GLOBE.”

“Attending CFAES was the transformational experience that set the course for my life,” she said. “The education I received and the relationships I developed with the faculty opened the world to me and provided me the opportunity to think boldly. It has always been a privilege and a passion to dedicate time and resources to advancing the mission of Ohio State, its faculty, its programs, and its alumni association.”

What role will you play on the board?

I am eager to get to know the strengths and talents of the board, and to leverage my experience in academia, nonprofits, multinational firms, federal government, and foundations in service to the board. Reconnecting alumni with one another and with the university will enrich the Ohio State community—a community that starts in Ohio but touches every corner of the globe.

What do you hope to accomplish during your tenure on the board?

Those of us privileged to work in food and agriculture know that our industry is interwoven throughout the entire economy and is what has allowed us to achieve great things and is essential to virtually every challenge we face going forward. Working together, we have met challenges, found solutions, and created amazing new beginnings. I hope I can help bridge distances—geographical or philosophical—and build on our common connection to Ohio State, where we can see beyond the here and now and envision the possible.

Is there anything else that you want your fellow alumni to know about you?

Ohio State has proven to be that institution that has introduced me to many people who have made a real difference in my career and my personal life. I would like to continue that experience by engaging with CFAES alumni and getting to know what you want from your alumni association. And if anyone knows of an Ohio State alumni scuba diving group, I’m in!
