Ohio 4-H camp has been called “the best week of summer.” It’s all about tie-dyeing T-shirts, line dances, campfires, amazing counselors, and sharing a cabin with friends. But how did camp happen during the COVID-19 pandemic?
Virtually.
Ohio 4-H, the youth development program of Ohio State University Extension, annually offers or sponsors 4-H camps in each of Ohio’s 88 counties. This summer, they used videos and interaction via live platforms such as Zoom to hold camps.

There was no reluctance from 4-H members in embracing virtual camp. More than 350 youth registered for Camp...ish in less than 24 hours after the camp was first announced!
